Pumpkin Patch Birthday

My 26th birthday once again landing at the beginning of basketball season. I realize that after 11 years with Jon, that the October 15th date of the first practice will never change...except earlier, in which my birthday has no chance. I'm not the only one to endure that, however, as Macy and Caitlin's birthdays are at the end of the season, which is even more stressful and overloaded than the beginning of practice. Guess who's birthday is during the EASIEST LAID BACK month of basketball? April. Of course, it's Jon's. Ironic, don't you think?
I did, however, guilt Jon into canceling his 4th day in a row of 2-a-day practices, and we got to go the Pumpkin Patch as I requested. This is our 2nd year in a row at the Red Barn Farm, even though we went to the Orchard first and complained that the website said there were animals, pony rides and hay rides (my sense of direction has not improved with age...)
Macy chose her pumpkin by sitting on it...
And Caitlin just wanted one that wasn't rotten...after she ran around the whole patch several times... Going to the Pumpkin Patch with the kids made me feel 10 years younger (so don't any of you smarties out there comment on how old I said I was (you know who you are...Kelly, Heather, Holly). That's how young I felt, so that's the age I'm claiming to be! Happy 26th to me!

Daaaadee!

Macy knows the sound of Jon's garage better than the rest of us. She usually announces that she heard his garage and knows he is home by exclaiming, "Daaaaaaadee! Daaaaaaaaadee!" She stretches her neck out and looks at me, letting me know over and over that he is home. She anticipates his arrival by running to and from the gated stairwell, waiting for his voice to shout, "Maaaaacee! Maaaaaaaacee!"
Sometimes dad brings home his supper, if he was late at practice or the office...
and Macy can usually bribe him for some (okay, most - it would shock anyone the amount this little 21 pounder can put in her body!) of his supper by saying, "Peezzzz! Byyy, Peeezzz!" These are Macy's most used words, and they mean Please and Bite. She is very clear in her thoughts, and she stresses her words so much that I'm pretty sure she thinks they need no clarification. Who wouldn't give up their supper for this little ham?

Hats

Caitlin brings many projects, assignments, and worksheets home from school. Usually they were completed at school, and we hang them on the refrigerator or frame them for the playroom. On this day, Macy was sure Caitlin's Shape Bridge picture was a hat, and if the rest of didn't believe that, she was determined to prove it.
Over the next few days, Macy again decided to try on her newfound hat as our summer quickly skipped over fall and went right into winter... Most kids don't like to put on their hats. It would appear that Macy seeks, finds and shows off her hat-wearing abilities. However, I do believe that Macy is actually a big ham. She puts these hats on because we think it's cute and funny. She loves being cute and funny. You can tell this little stinker does things to get a laugh, and often she'll laugh at herself. I have a class clown on my hands and I love it! It brings laughs to our household constantly and it reminds me of my own sister when she was a kid!
